Position Overview
As a Water & Fire Damage Mitigation Technician, you will respond to residential and commercial property losses caused by water, fire, smoke, mold, and other environmental damages. You will perform mitigation services, monitor drying progress, document projects, and help return properties to pre-loss condition.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect and assess water, fire, smoke, and mold damage
- Perform water extraction and structural drying services
- Set up, monitor, and remove drying equipment
- Conduct mold remediation and antimicrobial treatments
- Perform demolition and debris removal as needed
- Execute sewage cleanup and contamination protocols
- Establish containment systems and maintain safe work environments
- Clean and restore fire- and smoke-damaged contents and structures
- Document job progress using MICA/Mitigate and company software
- Maintain accurate moisture readings, drying logs, and job documentation
- Communicate professionally with customers, adjusters, and team members
- Follow IICRC standards and company safety procedures
QualificationsRequired
- IICRC Certification (WRT preferred; additional certifications are a plus)
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Minimum 3 years of licensed driving history
- Ability to pass a background check
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds regularly
- Comfortable working in confined spaces, attics, crawlspaces, and varying environmental conditions
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and customer service skills
Preferred
- Experience in water mitigation, fire restoration, mold remediation, or related restoration services
- Experience using MICA, Mitigate, DASH, Encircle, or similar restoration software
- Additional IICRC certifications including ASD, AMRT, FSRT, or TCST
Schedule
- Full-Time
- Monday through Friday
- Rotating on-call schedule required
- Availability for emergency after-hours, weekend, and holiday response calls
