We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Payroll Processor to join our team and ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for our employees.
Position Summary
The Payroll Processor is responsible for processing payroll, maintaining employee payroll records and providing excellent customer service to employees regarding payroll-related inquiries. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and experience managing payroll in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Process weekly and biweekly payrolls accurately and on schedule.
- Review and verify employee time records, earnings, deductions, and payroll adjustments.
- Maintain employee payroll records and ensure data accuracy within payroll systems.
- Process new hires, terminations, wage changes, garnishments, direct deposits, and tax updates.
- Reconcile payroll reports and investigate discrepancies.
- Coordinate with Human Resources regarding employee status changes and benefits deductions.
- Prepare payroll reports and maintain payroll documentation for audits and regulatory requirements.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to payroll processes and procedures.
Qualifications
Required
- Associate’s degree in human resources, Accounting or Business administration, or related fields
- Minimum of 2-3 years of payroll processing experience.
- Strong understanding of payroll laws, wage and hour regulations, payroll taxes, and garnishments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- This is a Full-Time Hourly Position onsite in Clinton Township, MI
- Hours: Monday – Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm
Preferred
- Experience using iSolved and PrismHR (Prisim) payroll software.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation.
- Experience in Aerospace and Manufacturing industries.
