We're hiring a Water Treatment Operator-in-Training II to support daily operations and maintenance at a water treatment facility. This role is ideal for someone with foundational water treatment experience looking to grow their skills.
Pay: $21.70 per hour
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license
- Water Level I Certification
- Minimum of one year of water treatment experience
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and operational tasks at a water treatment plant on an assigned shift
- Operate treatment facilities to control flow and processing of water, sludge, and effluent under supervision
- Monitor gauges, meters, and control panels; observe and report abnormalities
- Operate valves, gates, pumps, engines, and generators to adjust treatment flow under direction
- Maintain shift logs and record meter/gauge readings
- Take samples and perform process control lab tests and analyses
- Perform routine maintenance and custodial duties
- Be fit and able to work overtime as needed
- Follow written and oral instructions and safety procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of engine, pump, and equipment operation and maintenance principles
- Familiarity with general maintenance work and safe work practices
- Basic understanding of biological and chemical principles
