Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide exceptional patient care across various healthcare settings. Duties
- Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and comfort.
- Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature accurately and report changes to nursing staff promptly.
- Support medical procedures by preparing patients and assisting with tasks such as catheter care, phlebotomy, or medication administration under supervision.
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety and prevent the spread of infectious diseases.
- Document patient care activities thoroughly using electronic health records (EHR) systems while maintaining confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Use patient transfer methods safely, including Hoyer lifts or manual handling techniques, to prevent injury for both patients and staff.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members to address needs compassionately and professionally.
- Assist with specialized care for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, providing memory care support that respects their dignity.
Experience
- Prior experience working in medical-surgical units, emergency medicine, ICU settings, or trauma centers is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated proficiency in using EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation.
- Experience caring for geriatric patients within long-term care facilities or nursing homes is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to acute care, behavioral health, pediatrics, or hospice care enhances your ability to deliver comprehensive support.
- Familiarity with advanced patient transfer methods and safe lifting practices ensures optimal safety during mobility assistance.
- Previous exposure to specialized environments such as Level I/II trauma centers or pediatric intensive care units (PICU) is advantageous.
- Certification in basic life support (BLS) or CPR is required; additional certifications like phlebotomy or medication administration are a plus.
