The Student Financial Services unit is seeking a dynamic individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, where critical thinking and creativity are valued skills in day-to-day processing.
The Assistant Director of Veterans Benefits will be involved with the day-to-day operations of the Veterans Benefits team within the Student Financial Services Office. The Assistant Director will be a School Certifying Official (SCO) with primary responsibility for certifying benefits with the Department of Veterans Affairs. The Assistant Director will also be responsible for communicating with students via phone, email, and the message center.

Spend less time commuting and more time focusing on meaningful work or personal priorities. Core hours are 8:30 AM–5:00 PM, including a 1-hour lunch, for a 37.5-hour week.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Veterans Benefits School Certifying Official (SCO)
- Providing student support via phone, email and message center
- Keep current on regulations related to Veterans Benefits
- Support the collection of required documentation and processing of forms related to Veterans Benefits
- Assist with developing, revising, and updating processes of the unit related to programs administered by the college
- Liaison with Department of Veterans Affairs
- Participate in ongoing professional development along with the encouragement of the growth of colleagues
- Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned in support of the needs of the unit and the students we serve

- Bachelor’s degree required
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in higher education
- Experience supporting or working with veteran students preferred
- Demonstrated interest in promoting distance learning in higher education
- Ability to engage and support a diverse adult student population
The hiring salary range for this position is $48,000.00 - $50,000.00. The hiring salary range above represents the University's good faith estimate at the time of posting.
