Duties
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems to process retail sales transactions accurately and efficiently
- Handle cash register operations, including cash drawer handling and balancing at shift end
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting shoppers, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries
- Conduct product demos when needed to highlight features and benefits to customers
- Upsell complementary products to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales
- Stock shelves, organize merchandise, and assist with merchandising displays to ensure an attractive store environment
- Maintain phone etiquette when answering customer calls or inquiries
- Assist with inventory management tasks such as stocking shelves and participating in stock counts
- Support supervising staff during busy periods or when needed to ensure smooth store operations
Skills
- Proven experience in retail sales, cashiering, or grocery store environments with strong cash handling skills
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash register operations
- Excellent communication skills, including bilingual abilities preferred for serving diverse customers
- Strong customer service orientation with the ability to handle difficult situations professionally
- Basic math skills for handling transactions, giving correct change, and balancing cash drawers
- Knowledge of retail store product knowledge and merchandising techniques
- Demonstrated supervising experience or ability to assist in team leadership roles during shifts
- Ability to perform retail math accurately for daily reconciliations
- Experience in upselling, product demos, and promoting store promotions effectively
- Good phone etiquette for engaging with customers over the phone or via digital communication channels
- Grocery store experience is a plus for understanding inventory flow and customer needs
