The Associate Youth Director serves as a core relational and leadership partner to Pastoral Leadership as well as the Youth Director, discipling and walking alongside a ministry of middle and high school students while actively bridging the transition into young adulthood.
This role focuses heavily on relational presence, building deep connections with students both at church and in the community, communicating God’s Word through age-appropriate teaching, and helping disciple our volunteer leaders. Working hand-in-hand with the Youth Director and Pastoral Staff, this position also collaborates closely with the Young Adult Ministry to align vision, assist in execution, and maintain an active relational presence. With flexible schedule options, this position is ideal for someone passionate about showing up in students' everyday lives, mentoring volunteer teams, and creating Gospel-rooted spaces for students and young adults.
Key Responsibilities
1. Teaching & Program Leadership
· Student-Focused Teaching: Prepare and deliver engaging teachings, small-group lessons, and devotionals tailored specifically to the developmental and spiritual needs of middle and high schoolers.
· Wednesday Night Midweek: Co-lead Wednesday night student gatherings, including teaching, leading discussion groups, and creating a high-energy, welcoming environment.
· Sunday Services: Assist with Sunday morning youth environments, welcome new families, and help connect students to the broader church family.
2. Relational Ministry & Community Engagement ("TRIBE")
· Presence in the Community: Intentionally spend time where students are in the community and attending events to build trust and presence outside church walls.
· Student Discipleship: Build 1-on-1 and small-group mentorship relationships with students to help them navigate faith, school, and life.
· TRIBE Events & Fellowships: Help organize and lead outside fellowship events, seasonal retreats, service projects, and outings that strengthen student relationships.
3. Young Adult Ministry & Pastoral Collaboration
· Pastoral & Youth Director Alignment: Work closely with the Youth Director and Executive Pastor to ensure all youth and young adult initiatives align with the overall vision and mission of the church.
· Vision & Strategy: Partner with Pastoral Leadership and the Young Adult Ministry team to build a healthy bridge for high school seniors graduating into young adult ministry.
· Execution & Presence: Assist in planning and executing young adult gatherings and events, maintaining an active, relational presence within the young adult community.
4. Volunteer Discipleship & Leadership Support
· Discipling Volunteer Leaders: Invest directly in volunteers through prayer, regular encouragement, spiritual care, and ministry coaching.
· Ministry Support: Partner with the Youth Director to plan series topics, align vision, and maintain clear communication with parents and volunteers.
Schedule & Hours
This position is part-time. Hours are intentionally structured around key ministry moments and community presence:
· Required Gathering Times: Sunday morning services and Wednesday evening midweek program.
· Ministry Events & Community: Evening or weekend events (TRIBE activities, school games, retreats).
· Flexible Planning Hours: Hybrid/flexible administrative and discipleship time scheduled alongside the Youth Director.
Pay: $30.00 per hour
