Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Emergency Room Nurse to join our team at a free-standing emergency department (FSED). This facility provides emergency care for patients of all ages and operates independently from a hospital campus while maintaining the same standards of emergency care. The ER Nurse will assess, triage, and provide direct care to patients experiencing a wide range of acute illnesses and injuries in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform rapid assessments, triage, and ongoing monitoring of emergency patients using evidence-based protocols.
- Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapy as prescribed and in accordance with facility and nursing protocols.
- Collaborate with emergency physicians, advanced practice providers, radiology, and lab personnel to deliver high-quality, timely care.
- Manage critical situations such as trauma, cardiac arrest, respiratory distress, and other life-threatening conditions.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Provide patient and family education regarding treatment, follow-up care, and discharge instructions.
- Ensure the ER environment is clean, organized, stocked, and compliant with safety standards.
- Participate in emergency preparedness drills, continuing education, and performance improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Current RN license in the state of Florida
- Associate's or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of recent Emergency Room or critical care experience
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support)
Preferred:
- Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) credential
- Prior experience in a free-standing ER or hospital ER
