Job Description:
Job Purpose
The main duties of the Siding Utility position include final product inspection, packaging and relief. The Siding Utility position is expected to learn and develop Siding Line Operator skills under the leadership of the Siding Line Operator.
In this position you will have the opportunity to:
Grades and packages finished product, ensuring all units are correctly labeled and banded.
Provide general relief in support of line positions during breaks, vacations or open positions.
Perform general clean-up and utility duties under daily direction of the supervisor, including sweeping floors, painting, cleaning equipment, etc.
Responsible to the Siding Line Operator for the quality and quantity of product.
Responsible for final quality check of all boards.
Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work area.
Responsible to the Siding Line Operator for constantly monitoring finished units for proper appearance, stamp, paint, packaging, etc., and fills out the required paperwork completely.
Responsible for shift cleaning of bar code machines.
Assist operator or grader with problems when line is down.
Assists with adjustments to and services the paint systems as directed by the Siding Line Operator.
Relieves Finishing Dept Operator, Trucker and Grader for breaks.
Be familiar with JHA, JSA, Job Process Maps and Environmental Management System for this position.
Perform other duties as assigned by Shift Supervisor or Siding Line Operator.
What do I need to be successful?
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Time management skills.
Knowledge of line position duties and functions.
Knowledge of general plant clean-up and utility functions.
Ability to read and understand safety rules and regulations.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience:
3 months experience required.
Or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
