About the Role:
The Controller plays a critical leadership role in overseeing the financial operations and reporting of the organization to ensure accuracy, compliance, and strategic financial management. This position is responsible for managing accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and financial statement preparation. The Controller collaborates closely with executive leadership to provide insightful financial analysis and support budgeting and forecasting processes that drive informed business decisions. Ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and internal controls is a key aspect of this role, safeguarding the organization's financial integrity. Ultimately, the Controller contributes to the company’s financial health by optimizing processes, mitigating risks, and supporting sustainable growth.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting or financial management roles.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience managing a team and overseeing accounting operations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation.
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite.
- Previous experience as a Controller or in a senior financial leadership role.
- Advanced skills in financial modeling and data analysis.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements specific to the industry.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee daily accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports in compliance with GAAP and regulatory standards.
- Coordinate and lead the budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes in partnership with department heads.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and external regulatory requirements.
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering professional development and maintaining high performance standards.
- Collaborate with external auditors during audits and implement recommendations to improve financial processes.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiencies.
