Responsibilities
- Safely operate various passenger vehicles including vans, shuttle buses, and specialized medical transport vehicles in accordance with all traffic laws and company policies
- Transport clients to scheduled medical appointments, therapy sessions, and other approved destinations using local driving routes
- Assist passengers with boarding, disembarking, and basic mobility needs while maintaining respectful and compassionate communication
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections, perform basic maintenance checks, and ensure vehicles are clean, well-maintained, and compliant with safety standards
- Use GPS navigation systems to follow designated routes efficiently and adapt to traffic conditions as needed
- Communicate effectively with clients to confirm appointments, provide updates on schedules, and address any special needs or concerns
- Adhere strictly to state transportation regulations, health protocols, and safety procedures at all times
Requirements
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, shuttle driver, bus driver, or chauffeur driving passenger vehicles such as vans or limousines
- Valid driver’s license appropriate for the vehicle type; commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred but not mandatory depending on vehicle size
- Demonstrated knowledge of GPS navigation tools and local driving routes for efficient scheduling
- Experience with medical transportation or paratransit services is highly desirable
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks including assisting passengers with mobility aids or heavy lifting when necessary
- Strong understanding of traffic regulations and safety standards for passenger vehicles in accordance with state transportation laws
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with diverse clients
- Reliable communication skills to coordinate with dispatchers and healthcare providers effectively
- Physical ability to handle long periods of driving, assist passengers physically if needed, and maintain vehicle cleanliness
