Our client, a global commercial vehicle and transportation manufacturing leader, is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to join their team. As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will be part of the Quality Department supporting Supplier Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Operations Teams. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication skills, and strong attention to detail which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Supplier Quality Engineer
Location: Detroit, MI.
Pay Range: $35 - $40
- Manage supplier quality performance and drive corrective actions to ensure uninterrupted production.
- Lead supplier performance improvement projects focused on quality, capacity, and delivery metrics.
- Conduct supplier audits and support process standardization, waste reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Investigate supplier quality issues and lead root cause analysis using problem-solving methodologies.
- Interface with suppliers and cross-functional teams to resolve technical quality concerns and improve supplier performance.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
- 1–3 years of supplier quality, manufacturing, or quality engineering experience.
- Knowledge of GD&T, MSA, and quality problem-solving tools such as 8D, 5-Why, and Fishbone.
- Strong technical communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 30–50%.
