We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in commercial HVAC and mechanical construction to run projects both large and small across multi-site portfolios. You will support Senior Project Managers and Project Engineers while also leading field crews, coordinating self-perform and subcontracted work, and managing project financials and schedules from preconstruction through turnover. This is a hands-on role that requires sound technical knowledge of HVAC/mechanical systems, a bias for action, and the ability to work autonomously within established company processes. You’ll apply LEAN principles and prefabrication thinking to improve productivity, mentor junior staff, and foster long-term client relationships. Success in this role comes from thoughtful planning, decisive execution, and collaborative leadership with both field and office teams.
Responsibilities:
-
Plan, manage, and deliver mechanical/HVAC projects, scheduling, cost control, quality, and safety—either singly or across multiple concurrent jobs.
-
Coordinate and lead self-perform crews, foremen, and subcontractors; maintain strong field relationships to drive performance.
-
Manage project financials: budgets, forecasts, change orders, and margin protection; report status to senior leadership.
-
Oversee project planning and implementation of LEAN and prefabrication strategies to improve schedule and cost outcomes.
-
Prepare and maintain project documentation, coordinate with design/owners, and ensure contractual compliance.
-
Mentor and develop project engineers and junior staff; promote a collaborative, accountable team culture.
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (Preferred)
-
7+ years’ progressive mechanical/MEP construction experience, with demonstrated success managing multiple MEP projects.
-
Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, piping, and building systems, design through construction.
-
Experience with Design/Build, IPD, LEAN construction tools, prefabrication strategies, and project financial forecasting preferred.
-
Experience on data centers, federal, industrial, or healthcare projects is a plus.
