Job Summary: The Contract Specialist will be responsible for Logistics and Brokerage contracts within the company. This position involves review, analysis, and negotiation of contracts related to all functions of the business. The position will facilitate completion of the agreements, collaborating with senior leadership.
Essential Functions:
- Promote the company image
- Review, assess, and interpret contracts related to all business units
- Analyze terms and conditions to ensure compliance with company policies
- Review contractual obligations with any ambiguity finalized with management
- Work with legal and compliance departments for adherence of laws and regulations
- Advise on mitigation strategies for identified risks
- Ensure all stakeholders are aligned on terms, pricing, and service level agreements
- Maintain accurate records of all contract versions and amendments
- Provide reports to management on status of negotiations and potential risks
- Ensure all necessary documentation is filed, organized, and accessible
- Support other departments to understand terms and conditions
- Relay latest industry trends, legal changes, and best practices to management
- Propose and implement processes to increase efficiency and minimize risk
- Assist RoadOne LogisticSystems agent group as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor degree in a related field preferred
- 3-5 years’ experience in contracts and contract management in the logistics industry
- Understanding of logistics, transportation, and supply chain management
- Experience with contract law, risk management, and negotiation strategies
- Strong problem-solving and reasoning ability
- Excellent communication; both written and verbal
- Knowledge of basic computer systems including Microsoft office programs
- Knowledge of contract systems Highway, RMIS, and MyCarrier is a plus
- Knowledge of Business Insurance is a plus
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment
- Certification in Contract Management (e.g. CPCM, CCM) is a plus
