Wedgewood Family Practice, an affiliate of Mon Health, is looking to fill a full time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant position at our Cheat Lake location. Wedgewood Physicians, Inc., is a physician-led corporation providing health care professional services for the clinics of the Mon Health Wedgewood Primary Care and Psychiatry.
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) shall provide comprehensive management of patients within his/her given specialty and according to privileges approved by the Medical Staff office. The NP/PA has responsibility, authority and accountability for the provision of care through supervision by and collaboration with a physician. The NP/PA manages and provides patient care activities for a group of patients and their families through the application of independent judgment, communication and collaboration with all team members. The NP/PA establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with physicians, other health care providers, patients and their families, to achieve desired patient outcomes throughout the continuum of care.
The NP/PA shall work under the supervision of a physician
Education Requirements:
Nurse Practitioner: Graduate of a master’s prepared Nurse Practitioner program.
Physician Assistant: Graduate of an Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) approved Physician Assistant training program.
Experience Requirements: Previous experience in a clinical setting is preferred.
Certification/Licensure Requirements:
Nurse Practitioner: Current license as a Nurse Practitioner from the West Virginia Board of Nursing. Certification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). Must be credentialed according to Mon Health’s Medical Staff bylaws and appointed as Allied Health Professional Affiliate Staff. Must possess or obtain basic life support (BLS) certification within the probationary period and maintain certification.
Physician Assistant: Current license as a Physician Assistant by the WV Board of Medicine. Certification by the National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Must be credentialed according to Mon Health’s Medical Staff bylaws and appointed as Allied Health Professional Affiliate Staff. Must possess or obtain basic life support (BLS) certification within the probationary period and maintain certification. Must possess or achieve advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) within one year of employment start and maintain certification.

Schedule: Full Time, Flex, Two 12 hour shifts and two 8 hour shifts; rotating once every 4th weekend
