General Qualifications:

Cook Duties:
-
The cook's primary responsibility will be to assist the head cook in cooking, baking, preparing, and serving food items that meet mandated nutritional requirements; verifying quantities and specifications of orders; maintaining facilities in a sanitary condition; and assisting assigned food services personnel in food preparation.

Maintains the highest standards of safety and cleanliness in the kitchen.

Maintains all food handling and storage in compliance with state health department guidelines.

Prepares food according to a planned menu and determines if the finished product is of best quality, both in flavor and appearance before it is served.

Serves breakfast and/or lunches to students or sells ala carte items.

Cleans cafeteria area, including the sanitation and wiping down of tables prior to storage.

Assists head cook as requested.

Reports immediately to the food service supervisor any problems or accidents occurring in the kitchen or on the cafeteria premises.

Reports to the food service supervisor any faulty or inferior quality food that is received.

Performs the daily cleaning of all kitchen equipment, the washing and sterilizing of all dishes, silverware, and utensils.

Performs other food service-related duties as assigned pursuant to the contract.

Performs the essentials of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

Completes work assigned.

Consistently deals with people in a courteous and professional manner.

Must have regular attendance.

Demonstrate good judgment and common sense.

Capable of standing/walking without restrictions.

Demonstrate ability to operate and care for kitchen equipment and ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds.
