American Traveler is hiring an experienced Surgical Technologist for a Pediatric Cardiac OR position at a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center, requiring a minimum of 3 years of Peds CVOR experience in a 1st Scrub role.

Position is based in a Pediatric Cardiac OR (CVOR) within a hospital Operating Room department
-
Level II Pediatric Trauma Center with a Level IV NICU
-
Patient population ranges from neonates to 18 years old, including adult-sized pediatric patients, infants, and patients with developmental delays or congenital anomalies
-
Common cases include Tetralogy of Fallot, pericardial window, transposition of great vessels, open heart valve repairs, ECMO, PDA ligation via thoracotomy, and ASD repairs
-
12-hour day shifts, 0630–1900, 36 hours per week
-
Weekend rotation is on-call only; 2 call weekends per 6-week period (end of shift Friday through Monday morning)

1 call shift per week (end of shift through following morning) with a 30-minute response time required

May float to the General OR to assist with cases when the CVOR is not busy

EMR: Epic

Active CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) certification required

Current BLS certification required

Active WA State Surgical Technologist license required

Minimum 3 years of Pediatric CVOR experience required

Experience must include 1st Scrub role (handing supplies to surgeon, instrument counting); candidates with only 2nd Scrub experience will not be considered

Hands-on scrub experience with the pediatric cardiac case types listed above is required; candidates missing experience in only 1–2 case types may be considered with manager approval
-
30-minute on-call response time capability required

First-time travelers are generally not considered unless the candidate has 5 or more years of Peds CVOR experience

Scrubs are provided by the hospital

At least one professional reference from a supervisor or above (Charge Nurse, Manager, Director, etc.) is required for consideration, with a second reference required prior to start
