Technicon Enterprises Inc. II is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Zoning and Code Enforcement Officer. The Zoning and Code Enforcement Officer will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with zoning regulations and codes, property maintenance codes, and other municipal codes as well as facilitating the development and implementation of code enforcement policies.
What you will do as a Zoning and Code Enforcement Officer:
- Zoning Compliance: Ensure compliance with zoning regulations and codes through regular inspections and evaluations of properties and developments.
- Permitting: Process zoning permits for various construction projects, ensuring they meet all necessary requirements.
- Zoning Enforcement: Investigate complaints and violations of zoning regulations and take appropriate enforcement actions.
- Municipal Code Enforcement: Investigate complaints and violations of property maintenance and other municipal code regulations and take appropriate enforcement actions.
- Rental and Resale Inspection Program Management: Manage the inspection programs for rental properties and real estate transactions in accordance with all municipal code requirements.
- Policy Development: Assist in the development and implementation of zoning policies and procedures to promote orderly growth and development.
- Public Engagement: Engage with the public, developers, and other stakeholders to provide information and guidance on zoning regulations and processes.
- Records Management: Maintain accurate records of zoning permits, applications, violations, inspections, and enforcement actions.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, agencies, and officials to coordinate code enforcement activities and projects.
- Continuing Education: Stay updated on zoning laws, municipal codes, regulations, and best practices through training and professional development opportunities.
What You Will Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Land Use Planning, Public Administration, or a related field preferred but not required
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in zoning, land use planning, municipal code enforcement or a related field.
- Strong understanding of zoning and property maintenance laws, regulations, and procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to interpret maps, plans, and legal descriptions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
