Overview
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Art Teacher to inspire creativity and foster artistic development among students of various ages. In this role, you will design engaging art curricula that promote self-expression, technical skill, and an appreciation for diverse artistic styles. Duties
- Develop comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, incorporating a variety of artistic techniques and mediums
- Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages experimentation, collaboration, and individual expression
- Guide students through the creative process, providing constructive feedback and personalized support to enhance their skills
- Incorporate elements of childhood development instruction and literacy education into art activities to support holistic learning
- Manage classroom behavior effectively using behavior management strategies to ensure a safe and productive space
- Prepare students for exhibitions, assessments, or standardized testing related to visual arts when applicable
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, special education needs, early intervention strategies, and inclusive practices such as Montessori or preschool teaching methods
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children in educational or childcare settings, including preschool or daycare experience
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
- Experience with curriculum development tailored for young learners and familiarity with classroom management techniques
- Demonstrated ability to teach physical education concepts integrated into art activities when relevant
- Excellent communication skills to engage students, parents, and colleagues effectively
- Knowledge of mandated reporting laws related to child welfare and safety protocols in educational environments
- Ability to adapt lessons for special education needs or early intervention programs as required
- Prior classroom experience in private schools or Montessori settings is a plus
- Skills in lesson planning for diverse learners across various age groups including toddlers and preschoolers

Pay: $50,250.00 - $61,000.00 per year
