Duties
- Greet customers warmly and identify their needs to recommend suitable products, including plants, gardening tools, outdoor equipment, and floral arrangements
- Assist customers with plant identification, horticulture questions, and landscape maintenance advice to enhance their outdoor projects
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately for cash handling, sales transactions, and inventory management
- Maintain attractive product displays through merchandising and stocking to maximize sales opportunities
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering phone inquiries, guiding shoppers around the store, and resolving concerns promptly
- Support inventory management by organizing stock, conducting regular stock checks, and replenishing shelves efficiently
- Apply retail math skills to handle transactions accurately and ensure proper cash handling procedures are followed
Qualifications
- Previous outdoor work experience or familiarity with lawn care, gardening, or landscape maintenance is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills in English; multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customers
- Knowledge of plant identification and horticulture principles to assist customers confidently
- Experience with floral design or merchandising is beneficial but not required
- Proficiency in POS systems and cash handling procedures to ensure smooth transactions
- Excellent organizational skills for stocking, inventory control, and maintaining store presentation standards
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining a positive attitude
- Demonstrated customer service skills with a friendly demeanor and active listening abilities
