Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our vibrant dental team. Responsibilities
- Assist dentists chairside during a variety of dental procedures, including restorative, prosthodontic, periodontics and pediatric treatments
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment following strict infection prevention management protocols
- Take dental X-rays while ensuring adherence to dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques
- Manage patient records accurately using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as SoftDent, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies. Training will be available
- Educate patients on oral health care, post-procedure instructions, and preventive practices to promote optimal dental health
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a dental clinic environment, with knowledge of general dentistry.
- Understanding of dental terminology, and anatomy relevant to oral health care
- Knowledge of dental equipment operation, dental sterilization procedures, infection control standards, and aseptic techniques
- Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely following radiation safety guidelines; experience with dental X-ray.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages.
- Certification in CPR or basic life support (BLS) is preferred; additional certifications in infection prevention
