Pickleball Director

Five Star Tennis Center is seeking an energetic, outgoing, and entrepreneurial Pickleball Director to lead the growth and development of our pickleball community. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate pickleball professional who enjoys building relationships, creating engaging programming, and growing participation through innovative events and community outreach.
As the Pickleball Director, you will be responsible for creating, organizing, and executing all social, instructional, recreational, and community-building pickleball programming. You will serve as the face of our pickleball program, helping players of all ages and skill levels feel welcomed, connected, and excited to participate.
Key ResponsibilitiesProgram & Event Development
- Design, schedule, and lead a variety of pickleball events, including:
- Mixers
- Round robins
- Themed events
- Holiday tournaments
- Member appreciation activities
- Develop a well-rounded calendar that appeals to beginners, intermediate players, competitive players, and multi-sport members.
- Introduce new event formats and programming ideas to keep participation growing and members engaged.
- Create and expand community group programming, including securing and maintaining seasonal permanent court times.
Community Building & Member Engagement
- Serve as the primary ambassador for the pickleball program.
- Welcome players and foster a fun, inclusive, and social atmosphere.
- Build strong relationships with members and guests.
- Encourage participation in events, leagues, clinics, and club activities.
- Help new players integrate into the club by facilitating introductions and creating connections within the pickleball community.
Event Operations
- Manage all event logistics, including:
- Registration
- Court assignments
- Scoring formats
- Equipment needs
- Coordinate with the front desk, teaching professionals, and facility management to ensure successful event execution.
- Track attendance, participation trends, and member feedback.
- Maintain accurate records and evaluate programming effectiveness.
Marketing & Promotion
- Promote pickleball events through:
- Social media
- Email newsletters
- Club software platforms
- In-person communication
- Create engaging event descriptions and promotional content.
- Capture photos and highlights to showcase community involvement and increase program visibility.
Instruction & On-Court Leadership
- Provide light instruction, warm-ups, and event format explanations.
- Ensure fair play, smooth rotations, and a positive player experience.
- Assist with beginner onboarding programs and "Learn to Play" social clinics.
Qualifications
- Strong passion for pickleball and community building.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven sales and relationship-building abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and event management skills.
- Basic math and reporting skills.
- Experience with club management software such as Club Automation, Court Reserve, or similar platforms preferred.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

The successful Pickleball Director will:
- Grow participation in pickleball events and programs.
- Build a vibrant and welcoming pickleball community.
- Increase the number of community groups utilizing permanent court times.
- Drive both member and non-member participation.
- Contribute positively to the department's gross and net revenue goals.
