IP Litigation Attorney

Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Intellectual Property (IP) Litigation Attorney to join our litigation team. The successful candidate will manage and advance complex IP disputes across patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets, handling all phases of litigation from pleadings and discovery through trial and post-judgment proceedings. This role requires strong advocacy, excellent writing, and the ability to collaborate with clients, technical experts, and colleagues to achieve favorable outcomes.
Compensation: $260k - $435k base + $42k - $115k bonus DOE
Key Responsibilities

Represent clients in federal and state courts and before administrative tribunals in IP litigation matters, including patent, trademark, copyright, and trade secret disputes.

Manage case lifecycle activities: draft and respond to pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and meet court deadlines.

Conduct legal research and draft high-quality briefs, motions, and memoranda, including claim-construction (Markman) briefing and summary judgment motions.

Prepare and defend depositions; coordinate and prepare expert witnesses and technical consultants.

Develop case strategy in collaboration with partners and clients, including settlement analysis and alternative dispute resolution (mediation, arbitration).

Supervise and mentor junior associates and paralegals; review work product and provide constructive feedback.

Manage e-discovery workflows and coordinate with vendors and IT for document review and production.

Maintain strong client communications, provide regular case updates, and participate in business development and client relationship initiatives.
Qualifications

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with at least one state bar.

3+ years of experience in intellectual property litigation at a law firm or as in-house counsel; experience as an Associate/Attorney handling IP disputes preferred.

Demonstrated experience with patent, trademark, copyright, and trade secret litigation, including motion practice and trial preparation.

Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills; proven ability to draft persuasive briefs and manage complex litigation tasks.

Experience with claim construction (Markman) proceedings, expert witness preparation, and deposition practice.

Familiarity with e-discovery platforms, document review processes, and case management tools.

Ability to work collaboratively across interdisciplinary teams and to manage multiple matters and deadlines effectively.

Technical background or familiarity with relevant technologies (e.g., software, electronics, life sciences) is a plus, as is registration with the USPTO (optional).
