Choreographer for High School Drama Club Fall Musical - Something Rotten
Overview:
The Choreographer designs, teaches, and refines all dance and movement elements of the high school musical. This role blends creativity with instruction—helping students of all experience levels perform confidently and cohesively on stage while supporting the overall artistic vision of the production.
Responsibilities:

Create original choreography that enhances storytelling and complements the show’s style and music.

Teach and rehearse choreography with cast members, adjusting for ability and safety.

Collaborate with the Director, Vocal Director, and Pit Director to ensure consistency in staging and timing.

Assist in planning and running dance rehearsals, including warm-ups and reviews.

Provide notes and feedback to students to improve performance quality.

Support technical and dress rehearsals to ensure clean transitions and polished final numbers.
Qualifications:

Experience in dance instruction or choreography (theatre, studio, or school setting).

Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Ability to adapt choreography for varied student skill levels.

Knowledge of musical theatre dance styles (jazz, tap, contemporary, etc.) preferred.
Time Commitment:
Rehearsals 3–4 days per week after school; increased hours during tech and performance weeks. Schedule determined collaboratively with the production team.
