Summary: The Master’s level Counselor and/or IFI Supervised Therapist (MLC/ST) position provides treatment and restorative interventions to adults and child/adolescents to assist the individuals in gaining access to necessary services, reduce psychiatric and addiction symptoms, and develop optimal community living skills. This position will also improve the individual child’s/adolescent’s ability to self-recognize and self-managed behavioral health issues, as well as the parents’/responsible caregivers’ capacity to care for their children.
- Maintain 25 hours or more on intensive In Home Team with mental illness and/ or substance abuse issues.
- Coordinate initial and on-going assessment activities to include obtaining psychological, psychiatric, medical, social, family, developmental, substance abuse, educational, legal, and financial/economic histories
- Initial development and on-going revision of the person plan
- Monitoring the implementation of the person plan
- Development of crisis prevention and intervention plans
- Explain and link consumers and families to available services
- Provide information to and consult with consumers and families/legally responsible persons on person centered plans and other issues
- Assess and monitor a consumer’s progress and psychiatric/emotional stability
- Provide direct intervention for mental health and substance abuse rehabilitation services and supports necessary to assist in achieving rehabilitative and recovery goals.
- Assist consumers and families in obtaining and accessing services
- Providing psycho-education and support for consumers and families
- Provide or arrange for individual and group therapy for consumers, as indicated in person centered plan

**ST(Supervised Therapist) - An individual currently in the process for license/certification or ENROLLED and working toward a degree. Degree must be in Human Services Field which will lead to clinical licensure and includes a practicum.
NOTE: All Supervisee/Trainees must receive clinical supervision by a qualified licensed or certified individual in the related field. Employee is expected to complete all necessary supervision hours in the pursuit of his/her license and sit for any examination required for such licensure within six (6) months of completing required supervisory hours
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Master’s level Counselor must be a graduate with a master’s degree in a related human services field and two (2) years’ experience with the population and have a current licensure to practice in the state of Georgia.
- Supervised Therapist must actively be pursuing a master’s degree in in a related human services field at the practicum level.
- Must possess a current Driver’s License, which is clear of violations reflecting a poor driving record. Personal vehicle insurance as required.
- Comfortable using computers, reading online calendars, sending, and receiving email, and using Microsoft Office, Client Management Software. Skills and experience are required, but leadership, personality, character, and integrity are significant considerations.
- Strong documentation and follow-up MLC/ST/CC TPP
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills and ability to speak concisely to clients, Client Navigators, and interact with Team members.
- Organized with confidential client material, appointment tracking, and caseloads.
- Ability to build relationships with diverse types of people, including clients, organization members, and members of the health care team.
- Respects the cultural diversity of client in care and strives to create a positive relationship
