Little Ones Academy is seeking an enthusiastic, caring, and qualified VPK Lead Teacher and Asst. VPK Teacher to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is passionate about early childhood education and committed to preparing children for kindergarten through engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction.
We are looking for a teacher who creates a safe, nurturing, and positive classroom environment while building strong relationships with children, families, and staff.
Responsibilities
- Plan and implement engaging daily lesson plans aligned with Florida VPK Early Learning Standards.
- Foster children's academic, social, emotional, and physical development.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and positive classroom environment.
- Conduct developmental assessments and maintain accurate student records.
- Encourage positive behavior using developmentally appropriate classroom management techniques.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding children's progress.
- Collaborate with administration and fellow teachers.
- Must be proficient with CLASS Assessments.
- Ensure compliance with all licensing, health, and safety regulations.
Required Qualifications
Applicants must meet Florida VPK Teacher requirements.
Required Credentials
✔ Florida VPK Instructor Credential (FCCPC) OR
✔ Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential AND Florida VPK Endorsement OR
✔ Bachelor's Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Pre-K/Primary Education, or a related field that qualifies under Florida VPK requirements.
Applicants who do not currently meet Florida VPK credential requirements will not be considered for this position.
Additional Requirements
- Florida 45-Hour Child Care Training (completed or eligible as required)
- Current CPR & First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to pass Level II Background Screening
- Excellent classroom management skills
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Passion for working with preschool-aged children
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience teaching in a Florida VPK classroom
- Experience using Creative Curriculum, Frog Street, or similar early childhood curriculum
- Experience conducting developmental assessments
- Experience working with children with diverse learning needs
Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour

- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds, bend, stop, crouch, reach, sit, sit on the floor, crawl, stand, walk, talk, and have visual acuity.
