We're looking for a full-time or part-time front store counter staff/barista. This person will be versatile and passionate about serving customers. Join our vibrant café team as a Front of House Barista/Cashier, where your energy and enthusiasm will create memorable experiences for every guest. In this dynamic role, you’ll serve freshly brewed coffee and delicious food with a smile, handle transactions efficiently using advanced POS systems, and ensure each customer feels valued and welcomed.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly as they enter the café, creating an inviting atmosphere that encourages repeat visits
- Prepare and serve high-quality coffee beverages, utilizing barista skills to craft drinks to customer specifications
- Operate POS systems and Manage cash register transactions with precision, including cash handling, credit card processing, and providing correct change
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front counter, dining area, and food prep stations in accordance with food safety standards
- Assist in food preparation and serving, ensuring all food handling practices meet health regulations
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues promptly, and upselling menu items to enhance sales
- Handle cash transactions and process payments accurately
- Bussing tables and maintaining cleanliness in the dining area
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure accurate order preparation and delivery
Experience
- Previous barista experience or background in coffee service is highly preferred
- Experience working with POS systems
- Strong time management skills to handle busy periods efficiently while maintaining quality service
- Proven ability to perform retail math accurately for cash handling and sales transactions
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures in a café or food industry setting
- Excellent communication skills with a friendly demeanor that fosters positive customer interactions
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Availability to start work early mornings and weekends.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts as needed to meet production demands.
