Position Overview
HTR is seeking an experienced Quality Control Technician to join our operations team. This role is responsible for ensuring that all audiovisual equipment meets company standards for performance, reliability, and presentation before deployment to clients.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in quality control within the AV rental industry and is highly proficient across a wide range of AV technologies, including audio, video, projection, and camera systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive quality control (QC) checks on a full spectrum of AV equipment, including:
- Professional audio systems (wireless microphones, mixers, speakers)
- Video systems (switchers, monitors)
- Projection equipment (projectors, lenses, screens)
- Camera systems (PTZ cameras, broadcast cameras, camera lenses)
- Test, troubleshoot, and verify functionality of equipment prior to shipment
- Ensure all gear meets HTR’s standards for cleanliness, labeling, firmware, and configuration
- Identify, document, and escalate equipment issues for repair or replacement
- Maintain QC checklists and documentation for all outgoing equipment
- Collaborate with warehouse, operations, and technical teams to ensure accuracy of orders
- Assist in maintaining inventory integrity and organization within the warehouse
- Support continuous improvement of QC processes and workflows
Qualifications & Experience
- Required: Prior experience working in quality control within the AV rental industry
- Strong technical knowledge across:
- Audio systems
- Video systems
- Projection
- Cameras
- Ability to troubleshoot AV equipment independently and efficiently
- Familiarity with major AV brands (e.g., Shure, Yamaha, Panasonic, Barco, Blackmagic, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Physical ability to lift and move equipment as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a high-volume AV rental warehouse
- Knowledge of inventory/ERP systems (e.g., IntelliEvent or similar)
- Understanding of live event production workflows
