CDL Class A Local Driver – Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused CDL Class A Local Driver to transport freight safely and efficiently within designated local routes. The ideal candidate will have a valid Class A CDL, a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to provide professional customer service. This position offers daily home time and consistent local deliveries.
Responsibilities:
- Operate Class A tractor-trailers safely and efficiently on local routes.
- Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and routine vehicle inspections.
- Transport and deliver freight in a timely manner while following scheduled routes.
- Secure loads properly and verify shipment accuracy.
- Maintain compliance with DOT regulations and company safety policies.
- Complete required paperwork, electronic logs, and delivery documentation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and warehouse personnel.
- Report vehicle maintenance issues and safety concerns promptly.
- Ensure cargo is loaded, transported, and unloaded safely.
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance while representing the company.
Qualifications:
- Valid CDL Class A license.
- Clean driving record and current DOT medical certification.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety requirements.
- Ability to operate tractor-trailers in various weather and traffic conditions.
- Strong time-management and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Ability to lift, move, and secure freight as required.
Pay: $22.00 - $31.00 per hour
