In this full-time, contract opportunity, you'll help kindergarten students with Individualized Education Programs thrive academically and personally. You'll work in an engaging, school-based setting near South Burlington, contributing directly to early educational success for children needing additional behavioral, communication, and daily living support.
Working alongside a collaborative team led by a special education teacher, you'll deliver individualized and small-group interventions tailored to diverse needs. Your dedication will enable students to access learning and achieve greater independence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide personalized and group assistance for kindergarteners with IEPs to foster growth and engagement
- Implement targeted behavioral, communication, and accessibility interventions
- Support students in developing independent daily living skills
- Collaborate closely with special educators, related service providers, and general education staff
- Reinforce instructional strategies as directed by the supervising teacher
- Accurately track and document student progress
Qualifications & Preferred Experience:
- Proven experience with children in educational or childcare environments (school-based background required)
- Familiarity with supporting students who have diverse learning or behavioral needs
- Effective communication, notable patience, and strong teamwork capabilities
- High school diploma is required; an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in education or related fields is preferred
