Job Overview
The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of FedEx Ground operations, excellent safety habits, and the ability to perform efficiently in a fast-paced delivery environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesRoute Coverage
- Cover assigned FedEx Ground delivery routes as needed.
- Ensure all deliveries and pickups are completed safely and on schedule.
- Adapt quickly to different routes, terminals, and service areas.
Package Handling
- Load, unload, organize, and scan packages accurately.
- Maintain package integrity and follow FedEx Ground handling procedures.
Customer Service
- Provide professional and courteous service to customers.
- Represent the company and FedEx Ground with professionalism at all times.
Vehicle Operation
- Safely operate delivery vehicles in compliance with DOT regulations, traffic laws, and company policies.
- Maintain a strong safety record while meeting delivery expectations.
Documentation & Compliance
- Complete all delivery and pickup documentation accurately.
- Follow FedEx Ground operational procedures and service standards.
Vehicle Inspections
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Report maintenance or safety concerns immediately.
Minimum QualificationsREQUIRED
- Current FedEx Ground driver experience.
- Active status in the FedEx Ground system.
- Ability to travel on short notice.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Current DOT Medical Card / DOT Physical.
Preferred Skills
- Experience using GroundCloud and FedEx Ground scanning systems.
- Strong time management and route-planning abilities.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull packages up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to enter and exit delivery vehicles repeatedly throughout the day.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions.
- Prolonged periods of driving, walking, and standing.
Work Environment
- Fast-paced delivery environment with strict service commitments.
- May require early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Frequent travel may be required based on operational needs.
