Job Summary
We are looking for a sales associate to create a welcoming and warm shopping environment for our store located in the East Village. The right candidate will possess an enthusiasm for vintage pieces (homewares & jewelry), glassware, and quality/artisan products. You have a can-do attitude and don't mind menial tasks (in fact kind of love them). You are comfortable managing the shop alone and handling multiple customers at once.
Responsibilities
- Customer service: welcoming & assisting customers, handling POS, answering phone calls, reply to general shop questions on email about products and inventory.
- Store upkeep: vacuuming, sweeping sidewalk, cleaning glassware, dusting, taking out the trash/recycling & other cosmetic cleaning needs.
- Restock product as needed and keep backstock organized.
- Inventory: receive and adjust inventory levels as needed, ensure products have appropriate price signage.
- Fulfill web orders efficiently with a high attention to detail and concern to packing fragile products safely.
- Running errands like picking up and dropping off packages.
- Manage shop supply ordering.
- Any other reasonable requests by the employer.
Qualifications:
- Retail experience is preferred
- Knowledge of glassware; style and function
- Knack for organizing physical inventory and supplies
- Fantastic at gift wrapping and have nice handwriting
- Possess great communication skills.
- Can troubleshoot basic technology hiccups
- Comfortable lifting 30lbs
Pay: $25.00 per hour
