Overview
Join our dynamic School-Based Health Center team as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant dedicated to delivering exceptional primary and urgent care to students in a vibrant educational environment. Sunrise Clinics is opening a brand-new hub SBHC at Belén High School this school year, and you'll help build it from the ground up. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive healthcare services, promote health education, and collaborate closely with school staff, families, and healthcare professionals to foster a healthy, safe, and supportive atmosphere for children and adolescents. Your expertise will help ensure students receive timely, compassionate care that addresses their physical and mental health needs, empowering them to thrive academically and socially.
This role covers 40 hours a week serving students, faculty, and staff in the Belén Consolidated School District. We're open to filling those hours with one full-time provider or splitting them between two part-time providers — let us know your preference when you apply.
Duties
- Conduct thorough physical examinations and health assessments for students across various age groups, including toddlers, children, and adolescents.
- Diagnose and treat common illnesses and injuries, utilizing your expertise in acute care, emergency medicine, pediatrics, and behavioral health.
- Develop individualized care plans, coordinate referrals for specialty services like gastroenterology or infectious disease care, and manage chronic conditions such as asthma or diabetes.
- Collaborate with school staff to implement health education programs focused on nutrition, mental health awareness, injury prevention, and wellness promotion.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as eClinicalWorks while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Skills
- Proven experience working with children in clinical or school settings; familiarity with pediatric assessments and developmental disabilities is highly valued.
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems like eClinicalWorks for efficient documentation and patient management.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, diagnostic evaluation techniques including sonography or laboratory experience.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals across disciplines including behavioral health and medical specialists.
- Excellent client communication skills with a focus on patient-centered care; adept at triage and managing acute pain or urgent care situations.

Pay: $130,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
