Coordinate the daily operations of Daybreak’s housing programs to ensure smooth client transitions, strong landlord partnerships, and high-quality, youth-centered service delivery aligned with Housing First for Youth principles. The Housing Administrator facilitates client move-ins, maintains landlord relationships, ensures regulatory compliance, and collaborates with internal teams to address housing-related challenges. This role focuses on operational coordination and quality assurance, supporting a low-barrier, harm reduction approach that prioritizes stability, choice, and self-determination for youth and young adults (YYAs).
Essential duties include:

Coordinate client transitions from the streets or shelters into Daybreak housing options, ensuring timely placements and full occupancy

Collaborate with the YYA team to match participants with appropriate housing based on safety, proximity to transportation/school/work, and client choice

Manage the move-in process, including unit readiness (bedbug treatment, cleaning, painting, furnishings) and required paperwork

Meet with clients on lease agreements, program compliance, financial responsibilities, and tenant rights

Serve as the primary liaison to landlords — build relationships, market the program, negotiate leases, and recruit new landlords willing to rent to YYAs

Conduct and document weekly apartment inspections for Tax Credit, HUD, and funder compliance

Provide consultation to case management teams on housing-related concerns, client crises, conflict resolution, and discharges

Educate clients on lease contracts, tenant rights, and responsibilities

Partner with the Housing Director on program development, data collection, and reporting

Assist in developing and updating housing policies, procedures, and youth-friendly materials
Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in human services or a related field from an accredited four-year college or university required

At least 3 years of experience in property management, housing coordination, or real estate operations
