Job Description
The Laborer position requires a desire to work hard and learn with a team of talented carpenters and to take on greater responsibilities as you progress. You must be a team player with a willingness to pitch in at any level necessary to contribute to the overall success of the project.
Laborer Reports to Superintendent
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be customer service-oriented
- Efficient, motivated, dependable, and ethical
- Willingness and excitement to learn the trade
- Ability to take instruction and not afraid to ask questions
- Knowledge of basic hand tools
- Safety-conscious, follows safety policies
- Must have reliable transportation, and a clean driving record
- Must have own work boots, hammer, nail bags, tape measure, some small tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Construction job site experience
- Basic carpentry skills or training
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis for an 8-hour day
- Ability to lift 50 lbs., including overhead
- Ability to perform physical and repetitive motions
- Requires vision and hearing capabilities
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather
Compensation and Benefits
This is a full-time, non-exempt position, Monday-Friday. Fairbank Construction is an Equal

- The wage range for this position is $20.00-23.00/hour
- 7 Paid Holidays per Year (plus Veteran’s Day if you are a military veteran)
- PTO 2 weeks of paid time off per year for sick, vacation and personal time, up to 4 weeks with years of service
