The Cheerleading Coach is responsible for leading and developing a cheerleading program by teaching cheer, dance, tumbling, stunting, and teamwork skills in a safe and positive environment. The coach will plan practices, prepare squads for games and competitions, promote school or organization spirit, and support the physical and personal development of athletes.

Plan and lead cheerleading practices, conditioning sessions, and routines

Teach proper techniques for motions, jumps, tumbling, stunts, and choreography

Ensure athlete safety during practices, performances, and competitions

Create performance routines for sporting events, pep rallies, and competitions

Build team spirit, discipline, sportsmanship, and leadership among athletes

Evaluate athlete performance and provide constructive feedback

Coordinate uniforms, music, travel, and competition schedules

Maintain communication with athletes, parents, school staff, or program administrators

Enforce team rules, attendance standards, and conduct expectations

Monitor athlete health and report injuries or concerns appropriately

Stay current on cheerleading rules, safety standards, and coaching techniques

Previous cheerleading and/or coaching experience preferred

Knowledge of cheerleading techniques, stunting, tumbling, and competition rules

Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

Ability to motivate and mentor athletes of varying skill levels

CPR/First Aid certification preferred or required

Background check may be required depending on organization

Ability to demonstrate cheerleading techniques and routines

Ability to stand, move, and coach for extended periods

Ability to assist with spotting and physical activity during practices

Practices and events may occur evenings, weekends, and holidays

Work may take place indoors or outdoors depending on season and venue

Travel may be required for competitions and events
