We Are Long Island Organizing Hub
Job Opening: Hub Director
About the We Are Long Island (WALI) Organizing Hub
The WALI Organizing Hub is a collaborative of community organizations and concerned people on Long Island who have committed to working together for a better life that we can imagine now and in the future - one that is empowered, fair, and just across all Long Island communities. Launched in 2024, the WALI Organizing Hub grew out of the Long Island Unity Fund (LIUF), a community-led grantmaking initiative established to build local power on Long Island in pursuit of civic engagement and social justice goals. The Hub was created in response to community leaders' desire for a locally driven space where organizations could collaborate, share resources, and strengthen their organizing capacity while advancing equity in one of New York's most segregated regions. WALI Members are committed to building trust, learning from one another, and developing shared strategies for change. Through trainings, funding opportunities, and coordinated organizing efforts, the Hub helps strengthen community leadership and creates a stronger, more connected movement for justice on Long Island.
