Overview
The Shelter Aide plays a vital role in providing support and assistance to individuals residing in a shelter environment, 24 hours a day. The Shelter Aide will be responsible for maintaining a safe and supportive atmosphere while assisting clients with their daily needs. We are hiring for a variety of shifts, including daytime, evenings, weekends, and overnight.
Duties
- Provide direct support to shelter residents, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Answering our 24/7 hotline, providing emotional support and offering resources.
- Engage in crisis intervention when necessary, utilizing effective conflict management techniques.
- Supervise residents, offering guidance and support to encourage positive behavior management.
- Maintain accurate documentation of resident interactions and hotline calls.
- Communicate with staff regarding scheduling and messages.
Experience
- Skills in crisis intervention, conflict management, and behavior management are highly desirable.
- Strong data entry skills and attention to detail are essential for maintaining accurate records.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also demonstrating independence when necessary.
