Position Summary
The Food & Beverage Director is responsible for overseeing all food and beverage operations at the Club, including dining services, bar operations, staff management, member satisfaction, budgeting, and operational efficiency. This position works closely with the General Manager, Executive Chef, and department managers to ensure a high-quality dining experience while maintaining financial responsibility and service standards consistent with the Club’s expectations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Operations Management
- Oversee the daily operations of all food and beverage outlets, including dining rooms, bars, banquet functions, and special events.
- Ensure high standards of service, cleanliness, organization, and professionalism are maintained at all times.
- Monitor dining room flow, staffing levels, and service efficiency.
- Coordinate closely with kitchen management to ensure timely and accurate food service.
- Assist in planning and executing Club events, tournaments, holiday functions, and special member activities.
Staff Management
- Recruit, interview, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate front-of-house staff, along with the Assistant Food & Beverage Director.
- Develop work schedules and ensure proper staffing coverage.
- Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment focused on accountability and member service.
- Conduct employee coaching, corrective action, and performance evaluations as necessary.
- Ensure staff complies with Club policies, safety procedures, and service expectations.
Member Relations
- Maintain a visible presence in dining areas and interact regularly with members and guests.
- Address member concerns and complaints professionally and promptly.
- Work to continuously improve the member dining experience and overall satisfaction.
Financial Responsibilities
- Assist with preparation and management of the Food & Beverage budget.
- Monitor payroll, cost of sales, inventory, and operating expenses.
- Analyze financial reports and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability.
- Assist with pricing strategies, menu analysis, and cost control initiatives.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with health department regulations, sanitation standards, alcohol service laws, and workplace safety requirements.
- Maintain proper employee certifications and training where required.
Planning & Development
- Participate in long-range planning and operational improvements for the Food & Beverage department.
- Evaluate new technologies, service procedures, and operational efficiencies to enhance the member experience.
- Work collaboratively with Club committees and management on dining-related initiatives.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3–5 years of Food & Beverage management experience, preferably in a private club, resort, or hospitality environment.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of restaurant operations, service standards, budgeting, inventory control, and labor management.
- Ability to manage staff in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and member satisfaction.
- Experience with POS systems (JONAS) and Food & Beverage software preferred.
- Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry moderate weight when necessary.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $89,000.00 per year
