We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented OSP AutoCAD Drafter / Designer to join our team. This position is responsible for preparing, modifying, and maintaining telecommunications engineering drawings and construction documents for fiber optic and utility infrastructure projects.
The ideal candidate will have experience with OSP telecom design, traffic control plans, utility coordination, and AutoCAD drafting standards. Candidates with strong drafting skills and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and professional 2D engineering drawings using AutoCAD and AutoCAD Map 3D.
- Develop OSP telecommunications construction plans including underground and aerial fiber optic designs.
- Create and revise permit drawings, traffic control plans, trenching plans, bore profiles, and restoration details.
- Produce plan, profile, and detail sheets in accordance with client and jurisdictional standards.
- Review utility records, GIS data, aerial imagery, and field information to support project design.
- Perform quality control reviews to ensure drawings meet company and client standards.
- Update and maintain drawing files, project documentation, and revision histories.
- Assist with utility research, permitting exhibits, and design package preparation.
- Support multiple projects simultaneously while meeting established deadlines.
- Follow company CAD standards and best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in OSP telecommunications engineering and design.
- Experience designing fiber optic networks, conduit systems, handholes, vaults, and utility infrastructure.
- Knowledge of utility permitting requirements and right-of-way design practices.
- Experience creating traffic control plans and familiarity with MUTCD standards.
- Understanding of utility pole attachments, make-ready engineering, and aerial construction practices.
- Experience working with GIS platforms, KMZ/KML files, and mapping data.
- Ability to interpret construction plans, utility maps, and engineering specifications.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Proficiency in AutoCAD.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
