Jamaican Cuisine Kitchen is a growing, fast-paced Caribbean restaurant specializing in authentic Jamaican cuisine. We are located 5 minutes from Fort Worth Downtown. We are looking for a dependable, experienced Cook who takes pride in preparing high-quality food, works efficiently under pressure, and is excited to grow with our business.
Job Responsibilities:
Duties include, but not limited to, the following:
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and quality standards.
- Grill, fry, bake, and prepare Jamaican dishes including jerk chicken, oxtails, curry chicken, brown stew chicken, rice and peas, and other menu items.
- Maintain proper food portions and presentation.
- Assist with food preparation, marinating, seasoning, and batch cooking.
- Ensure food is prepared quickly and accurately during busy service periods.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area.
- Properly label, store, and rotate food using FIFO (First In, First Out).
- Monitor inventory and communicate when supplies are running low.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Work as a team to ensure excellent customer service and efficient kitchen operations.
Qualifications
- Previous restaurant or commercial kitchen experience preferred.
- Caribbean or Jamaican cooking experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Dependable, punctual, and positive attitude.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Some weekend availability required.
- Previous prep and/or line cook experience.
- Previous Caribbean cuisine experience.
