Position Summary
Our Lead BHT is the backbone of each shift. You’ll support client safety, maintain structure, guide other BHTs on shift, and represent the culture we’re known for — calm, supportive, accountable, and recovery-focused.
This is a leadership role with hands-on responsibilities. You’ll be working closely with Admissions, Nursing, Clinical, and Operations to ensure the day flows exactly how it should. This is a role for someone who can stay grounded, communicate well, and show up with the right energy to lead a shift effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Client Monitoring & Safety
- Provide regular safety checks and maintain a secure environment
- Observe and document client behavior, offer support, and notice changes before they escalate
- Hold firm but respectful boundaries that keep the community stable
- Set the vibe: consistent, calm, reliable, and team-oriented
Daily Structure & Engagement
- Provide direction and support to BHTs during shifts
- Ensure facility policies and daily schedules are followed
- Help run the daily schedule so clients feel supported and not lost in the process
- Assist during groups, activities, appointments, and transitions
- Provide transportation in company vehicles when needed
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment
Documentation & Communication
- Complete shift notes, safety logs, and incident reports accurately
- Communicate clearly during shift changes to keep the team aligned
- Report concerns promptly and professionally
- Support admissions, client intakes, and discharges
Client Support & Connection
- Oversee client safety, accountability, and movement
- Welcome new clients and help them get grounded on their first day
- Normalize early recovery struggles with empathy and accountability
- Model calm behavior and positive communication throughout the shift
Crisis Response
- Step in quickly and safely when clients need support
- Use trained de-escalation techniques to stabilize situations
- Work closely with clinical and nursing teams
Qualifications
- 1–2 years of experience as a BHT or similar role
- Leadership or shift-lead experience preferred
- Knowledge of substance use/mental health treatment settings
- Strong communication & de-escalation skills
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid driver’s license & ability to pass background check
- CPR/First Aid (or willingness to complete upon hire)

Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
