Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Heavy Haul Truck Driver to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating various types of trucks, tractor and lowboy trailers, roll-off trucks, and dump trucks. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, efficiency, and customer service while adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
Duties
- Operate and drive different types of trucks, including tractor-trailers, roll-off trucks, and dump trucks.
- Load and unload cargo, including construction equipment, as required, ensuring proper handling and securing of materials.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, routes taken, and any incidents or delays.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any issues that arise during transport.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal transportation regulations.
- Utilize forklifts when necessary for loading and unloading operations.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver's license (Class A CDL) is required.
- Proven experience in truck driving with a strong understanding of safe driving practices.
- Experience operating various truck types such as roll-off trucks, dump trucks, and tractor-trailers is required.
- Ability to load and unload cargo efficiently using appropriate techniques.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members and clients.
- Must be able to pass background checks and adhere to safety protocols.
- A commitment to maintaining a clean driving record.
