Job Title: Entry-Level Maintenance Technician – Optical Manufacturing

Job Summary
As an Entry-Level Maintenance Technician, you’ll play a key role in minimizing downtime by performing routine maintenance, basic troubleshooting, and repairs on our specialized optical processing equipment (e.g., grinders, edgers, polishers, blockers, generators, and automated systems). This is a great opportunity to build technical skills in a niche industry with on-the-job training provided—no prior optical experience required!
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections on optical manufacturing machinery to ensure consistent performance and safety.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and basic automation issues using diagnostic tools, manuals, and simple schematics.
- Assist with cleaning, calibrating, and minor adjustments to precision equipment like lens edgers, generators, and coating systems.
- Handle basic fabrication or repairs (including occasional welding or part replacement) to maintain equipment and facility integrity.
- Operate and monitor Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) for basic troubleshooting in automated production lines.
- Support general facility tasks such as minor HVAC checks, painting, or housekeeping to keep the production environment safe and efficient.
- Work closely with production teams to quickly address issues and support smooth operations.
- Follow all safety protocols and quality standards in a precision manufacturing setting.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Basic mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience (e.g., from facilities, automotive, manufacturing, or DIY projects).
- Willingness to learn electrical troubleshooting and use tools like multimeters/ohmmeters.
- Ability to read and follow basic technical diagrams, manuals, and schematics (training provided).
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to precision—critical for optical equipment.
- Reliable, proactive attitude with good problem-solving skills.
- Basic English communication for documentation, team coordination, and safety.
- Comfortable standing, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and working in a manufacturing environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical/vocational training a plus but not required.
Preferred (but not required for entry-level)
- Any prior maintenance, facilities, or manufacturing experience.
- Familiarity with welding, PLCs, or CMMS software.
