Overview
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Baker to join our bakery team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in donuts, bread making, food production and baking, as well as customer service. Bonus points for background in pastry arts and decorating. This role offers an opportunity to craft high-quality donuts, bread and baked goods in a fast-paced, customer-focused open-kitchen environment. Candidates with culinary experience, kitchen expertise, and a dedication to food safety are encouraged to apply.
This position is for an early morning baker, with shifts starting at 1 or 2am.
Duties
- Prepare and bake a variety of bread, rolls, and baked goods
- Recipe development for an extensive bread program, including sourdough
- Make and decorate donuts and pastries as needed, utilizing cake decorating skills to enhance presentation
- Package baked items efficiently for retail or wholesale distribution while maintaining product freshness
- Assist in food preparation tasks including mixing, kneading, portioning, and shaping dough
- Ensure all baked products meet quality standards and adhere to food safety regulations
- Maintain cleanliness of the bakery area, including equipment sanitation and proper storage of ingredients
- Support catering or special event orders by preparing baked goods for large-scale service
- Provide excellent customer service by engaging with customers about our products
Qualifications
- Proven experience in baking, pastry arts, or culinary environments; restaurant or food industry experience is a plus
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in food handling and safety procedures
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Excellent attention to detail, organization skills, and ability to work in a team environment
- Prior experience in food production, catering, or restaurant settings is advantageous
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety regulations
