Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes, safety standards, and quality specifications
- Assist in food preparation tasks such as slicing, dicing, and portioning ingredients using proper knife skills and slicing techniques
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering to food safety management practices
- Follow all safety standards during food production to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues
- Support menu planning efforts by providing input on ingredient needs and dish presentation
- Handle food with care during service, ensuring proper food handling and hygiene protocols are followed at all times
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders while maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or restaurant operations with a focus on quality and efficiency
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards in production environments
- Experience working in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is a plus, demonstrating familiarity with specialized meal requirements
- Excellent knife skills and slicing techniques for efficient ingredient prep
- Ability to follow detailed recipes and menu plans accurately
- Knowledge of catering procedures and serving protocols for large or special events
- Familiarity with the food industry’s best practices for safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
