Kaleidoscope Traces Childcare is urgently hiring a dependable, flexible, and compassionate Daycare Floater to support our growing team!
IMPORTANT: THIS IS A MULTI-LOCATION POSITION
Applicants MUST have reliable transportation and be willing and able to travel between BOTH Kaleidoscope Traces Childcare locations as needed. This is not a position assigned to only one center. Your scheduled location may vary depending on staffing needs, ratios, call-ins, breaks, and daily center operations.
Our floater is the heart behind the scenes—stepping in wherever support is needed to keep our classrooms running smoothly and our children safe, loved, and supported. Position Summary
The Daycare Floater provides flexible classroom and staffing support between both Kaleidoscope Traces Childcare locations. Floaters may be scheduled at either center and may occasionally be asked to transition between locations during the workday based on operational needs.
Our ideal candidate is reliable, adaptable, positive, and genuinely passionate about working with children.
Key Responsibilities
- Travel between both childcare locations as scheduled or needed
- Maintain reliable transportation for travel between centers
- Support multiple classrooms to maintain required staff-to-child ratios
- Work with children ranging from infants through school age
- Assist with diapering, toileting, feeding, meals, and rest time
- Participate in play, circle time, learning activities, and classroom routines
- Provide coverage for staff breaks, transitions, call-ins, and other staffing needs
- Maintain classroom cleanliness, organization, and safety
- Build positive and professional relationships with children, families, and coworkers
- Follow all licensing requirements, center policies, and health and safety procedures
- Adapt quickly to different classrooms, age groups, teachers, and daily needs
- Demonstrate reliability, teamwork, professionalism, and a willingness to learn
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be at least 16 years old
- Reliable transportation is REQUIRED
- Must be willing and able to work at and travel between BOTH locations
- CPR/First Aid certified or willing to obtain upon hire
- Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings
- Prior childcare or early learning experience preferred, but not required
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Dependable, adaptable, and passionate about working with children
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds
- Comfortable sitting on the floor, bending, squatting, lifting, and remaining active throughout the day
- Able to respond quickly and appropriately during emergency situations
