Position Overview
Heroes Lawn Care & Landscaping of Cedar Park is seeking an experienced, highly organized, and results-driven Landscape Operations Manager to oversee all field operations for our landscaping, lawn care, irrigation, drainage, and outdoor improvement divisions. This leadership position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing daily production while ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
The Operations Manager will supervise field personnel, coordinate equipment and materials, maintain quality control, coach crew leaders, and ensure exceptional customer satisfaction. This individual must possess extensive knowledge of turfgrass management, weed identification, lawn fertilization, irrigation systems, landscape installation, drainage, and general business operations.

Primary Responsibilities Operations Management
- Manage all daily landscape, lawn care, irrigation, and drainage operations.
- Develop daily and weekly production schedules.
- Coordinate labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors.
- Ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget.
- Monitor labor productivity and improve operational efficiency.
- Conduct regular job site inspections for quality and safety.
- Ensure crews are properly equipped and prepared before leaving the shop.
- Resolve field issues and provide technical support to crews.
- Implement and improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Crew Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop Crew Leaders and field technicians.
- Conduct daily production meetings and safety briefings.
- Train employees on proper installation techniques and company standards.
- Hold employees accountable for productivity, attendance, workmanship, and professionalism.
- Assist with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training new employees.
- Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment.
Technical ExpertiseLawn Care & Turf Management
Working knowledge of the following is preferred (not required):
- St. Augustine, Bermuda, Zoysia, Buffalo Grass, and other warm-season turf varieties.
- Lawn fertilization programs.
- Pre-emergent and post-emergent weed control.
- Broadleaf and grassy weed identification.
- Crabgrass, Dallisgrass, Nutsedge, Clover, Spurge, Chickweed, and Poa annua identification and control.
- Soil testing and soil amendments.
- Core aeration and overseeding.
- Disease identification and treatment.
- Grub, chinch bug, armyworm, and other turf insect management.
- Turf renovation and sod installation.
- Proper mowing, edging, and cultural practices.
Landscaping
Working knowledge of:
- Landscape installation.
- Native and adapted Texas plants.
- Tree and shrub planting.
- Bed preparation and grading.
- Mulching.
- Decorative rock installation.
- Weed barrier installation.
- Sod installation.
- Drainage improvements.
- Retaining walls.

Irrigation
Must understand:
- Residential irrigation systems.
- Sprinkler troubleshooting and repair.
- Rotor, spray, and drip irrigation systems.
- Valve replacement.
- Controller programming.
- Smart irrigation controllers.
- Rain and freeze sensors.
- Backflow prevention devices.
- Irrigation audits.
- Water conservation best practices.
- Hydraulic troubleshooting.
- Texas irrigation regulations and industry standards.
Quality Control
- Inspect projects throughout production and prior to completion.
- Ensure all work meets company quality standards and contract specifications.
- Minimize warranty work and callbacks.
- Conduct final walkthroughs before customer acceptance.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites.
Customer Service
- Communicate professionally with customers throughout projects.
- Resolve field concerns promptly and professionally.
- Coordinate with the Sales Manager regarding change orders and project updates.
- Ensure customer expectations are consistently exceeded.
Equipment & Fleet Management
- Oversee maintenance of trucks, trailers, equipment, and tools.
- Schedule preventative maintenance.
- Monitor equipment utilization.
- Reduce equipment downtime.
- Ensure employees properly care for company assets.
Inventory & Materials
- Maintain inventory accuracy.
- Coordinate deliveries.
- Verify material quantities.
- Minimize waste and theft.
- Maintain chemical and fertilizer inventory.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of pesticides and fertilizers.
Safety & Compliance
- Promote a strong safety culture.
- Conduct weekly safety meetings.
- Ensure OSHA compliance.
- Ensure proper PPE usage.
- Enforce company safety policies.
- Maintain DOT and fleet compliance where applicable.
- Ensure compliance with Texas pesticide application and irrigation regulations.
QualificationsRequired
- Minimum 3 years of experience in landscaping, lawn care, irrigation, or related green industry operations.
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory or management experience.
- Strong knowledge of landscape construction, irrigation, turf management, and lawn care programs.
- Ability to manage multiple crews and projects simultaneously.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to read landscape plans and work orders.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Any of the following is a plus (not required):
- Texas Irrigation Technician or Irrigator License.
- Texas Commercial Pesticide Applicator License or equivalent experience.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish).
- Experience with CRM, scheduling, and landscape management software.
- OSHA safety training.
