Overview
The Maintenance Stockroom Leader plays a central role in keeping maintenance operations running smoothly by overseeing the organization and availability of parts, tools, and maintenance materials.
Duties
- Supervise daily stockroom activities including inventory control, shipping, receiving, and materials handling to ensure operational efficiency.
- Oversee the operation of material handling equipment such as forklifts and RF scanners to facilitate safe and accurate movement of goods.
- Implement process improvements utilizing lean management principles to optimize workflow, reduce waste, and enhance productivity.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory management software; conduct regular stock audits.
- Coordinate logistics activities with internal teams and external vendors to ensure timely delivery and dispatch of goods.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety regulations and company policies related to warehouse operations.
- Monitor heavy lifting procedures and enforce safety protocols to prevent workplace injuries.
- Manage shipping and receiving documentation, ensuring accuracy in order fulfillment and inventory updates.
Experience
- Proven experience in inventory management.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with previous experience as a team leader.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations including inventory management systems (such as WMS), OSH regulations, and materials handling equipment operation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for reporting and documentation purposes.
- Excellent managerial communication skills to effectively lead teams and coordinate with cross-functional departments.
