Job Overview:
This opening is for an automotive Lube and Tire Technician. The position is to inspect, maintain and service customers' vehicles. The technician’s responsibilities include preparing detailed vehicle service reports, replacing tires, wiper blades and car batteries, and changing motor oil as well as transmission and brake fluid and other services as needed. Technicians should also have the basic understanding of working in an automotive repair shop. Technicians should be able to preform good quality level of work while keeping vehicles and work areas clean.
To be successful as a tire technician, you should have solid mechanical skills and adhere to all safety procedures and practices. Ultimately, an outstanding technician should be able to communicate effectively with others and demonstrate excellent time management skills. Technicians must be effective and qualified to service vehicles.
You will be tested during the interview and must prove you are qualified.
Responsibilities:
Technician Responsibilities:
- Thoroughly inspecting customers’ vehicles
- Have the ability to identify issues to be suggested for repair or service.
- Have the understanding the importance of proper vehicle maintenance
- Applying lubricants to the moving parts of vehicle engines to prevent premature engine wear and ensure optimal engine performance.
- Lubricating wheel bearings to prevent excessive tire wear.
- Replacing cabin, fuel, air, and oil filters as required.
- Performing tire rotations to ensure even tire wear.
- Testing tire pressure and adding air as needed.
- Mount and balance Tires / wheels
- Perform steering alignments
- Making recommendations for additional servicing based on initial vehicle inspections.
- Completed services within scheduled timeframes.
Technician Requirements:
- Have proven experience in automotive maintenance and repair.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Be able to pass a drug test
- Must have your own basic hand tools (specialty tools will be shop provided)
- Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification is advantageous but not a must.
- Be physically able to perform required job duties
- Have Valid driver's license.
- Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Be Detail-oriented.
- Have time management and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills.
- Provide exceptional customer service skills.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $13.50 - $19.50 per hour
